Feeling cared for by one’s supervisor has a more significant impact on people’s sense of trust and safety than any other behavior by a leader. Employees who say they have more supportive supervisors are 1.3 times as likely to stay with the organization and are 67 percent more engaged.

 

That’s the essence of my dual “specialty” – supervising people at work and parenting. So many obvious differences, but core similarities residing in human nature.  Good human relationships account for so much that”s “good” in the world. For some it’s like falling off a log, no big deal, and they take for granted something about which so many others have no clue.
